Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information CouponFlint ("we", "us") collects when you use couponflint.com (the "Site"), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. The Site is designed so you can browse every coupon without creating an account, and analytics stay off until you allow them.

1. Information You Give Us

You only provide personal information when you choose to use one of these features:

• Contact form: your name, email address, subject, message, an optional attachment, and the store your message concerns.
• Coupon submissions: the code or offer details, the store website, an optional expiry date, and your name and email if you choose to leave them.
• Email sign-up: your email address, together with the store or offer you were viewing, so the messages you receive match what you were shopping for.
• Store ratings: your star rating, stored with a random identifier instead of your name - this prevents double-voting without identifying you.

To protect these forms from spam and abuse, submissions are recorded together with the sending IP address and browser signature.

2. Information Collected Automatically

When you open an offer (Show Code or Get Deal), we log the offer and store, the time, your device type, your country, the page you came from, and your browser's user-agent string, under a random click identifier. We use this to measure which offers actually work, detect fraud, and reconcile affiliate commissions. Click records are not tied to your name or email - we do not have them while you browse.

Our servers and security providers also keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses and requested pages) to keep the Site fast and secure.

3. Cookies and Consent

On your first visit, the Site asks which cookies you allow. There are three categories:

• Strictly necessary: remember your cookie choices and keep core features working. Always on; they store no marketing data.
• Analytics: help us understand which pages and offers are useful.
• Marketing: allow advertising tools to measure and personalize.

Until you say yes, Google's tools start with every consent signal denied (Google Consent Mode v2), and our product analytics runs only in your browser's memory - no cookies, nothing that survives closing the tab. Your choices apply immediately, and you can change them at any time via the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

4. Analytics and Advertising Tools

Depending on your consent, the Site may load:

• Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics - traffic measurement
• PostHog - product analytics, cookieless until you accept the analytics category
• Microsoft Clarity - page-interaction analytics
• Cloudflare - content delivery, security, and performance measurement

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy.

5. Affiliate Click Tracking

When you open an offer, the link may route through an affiliate network so the retailer knows the visit came from CouponFlint. The network sets its cookie on the retailer's site, not ours, and receives an anonymous click identifier - never your name or email. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains how commissions work.

6. How We Use Information

• Publish, verify, and improve coupons and store pages
• Respond to your messages and review submitted coupons
• Send the emails you signed up for
• Measure offer clicks and reconcile affiliate commissions
• Detect and block spam, fraud, and abuse
• Meet legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to the Site.

7. Who We Share Information With

We share data only with the service providers that run the Site, and only what each needs:

• Hosting and database providers that store Site data
• Image delivery networks that serve store logos and photos
• Email delivery services that send our replies and newsletters
• The analytics providers listed above, subject to your consent
• Affiliate networks, which receive anonymous click identifiers

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the Site and its users. We never sell personal information to data brokers.

8. How Long We Keep Information

• Contact messages and coupon submissions: while we handle them, and for a reasonable period afterwards for reference and abuse prevention
• Email subscriptions: until you unsubscribe
• Click records: kept for reporting and commission reconciliation; the identifiers are meaningless outside our systems
• Analytics data: per the retention settings of each tool

9. Your Rights and Choices

Wherever you live, we extend the same choices:

• Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you
• Withdraw cookie consent at any time via Cookie Settings in the footer
• Unsubscribe from any email using the link it contains, or by writing to us
• Object to, or ask us to restrict, our processing of your information

To exercise any of these, email support@couponflint.com. If you are in the EEA or UK you may also complain to your data-protection authority. If you are a California resident, the choices above cover the access, deletion, and correction rights the CCPA/CPRA provides, and we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those laws define it.

10. Children

The Site is a general-audience shopping resource and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS, submissions are stored in access-controlled systems, and forms carry anti-spam protections. No website can promise perfect security, so we also limit what we collect in the first place - the best protection for data is not holding it.

12. International Visitors

CouponFlint is operated from the United States, and data is processed on servers our providers operate there and elsewhere. By using the Site you understand that your information may be processed outside your country, with the protections described in this policy.

13. Changes to This Policy

When we change this policy, the "Last updated" date on this page changes with it. Continued use of the Site after a change means the updated policy applies.
